Donnie Darko 2?!?!?

I really hope my initial cynicism is unjustified. Plot summary so far: Donnie isn’t in the film in any capacity story takes place 7 years after the first movie. Why do I suspect this will suck, and suck bad…like the studio will put out a giant pile of Lucas?
